Another victory has been announced for 03 numbers today as the one of the biggest Government departments has said it will move over to the mobile-friendly number range.
From March, the Department of Work and Pensions will begin to provide 0345 numbers alongside their 0845 numbers, so that callers will never be charged at more than a geographic rate to call the department again.
Calling the Department of Work and Pensions has been reported to be costing consumers up to £25million a year from calling the current 0845 numbers, which can cost up to 41p per minute to call.
Employment minister, Esther McVey said: “Our new 0345 numbers will save money for many of our callers, particularly for those using a mobile.”
