We know how frustrating it can be when you have a problem you just can’t solve alone. Our website is full of facts on setting up your 03 number and what to do once you have it installed. But to give you a helping hand, here are some of the most frequently asked questions we get from our customers and the answers to them. Remember, if you can’t find the answer to your question here, our account managers are always on the other end of the phone and will be happy to help!

  • What are “Non Geographic” Numbers?

    Non Geographic Numbers include numbers starting: 03,05, 070, 08 or 09 (i.e. 070, 0300, 0800, 0808, 0844, 0845, 0870, 0871, 0872 and 09). Most larger companies use these numbers as they don’t relate to a specific geographical location in the country. This helps if you have more than one office, or if you want your company to have a ‘big business image’.

    Using a non-geo number enables you to advertise further afield using a nationally recognised telephone number, rather than just your local area.

  • Can I keep my existing numbers?

    Yes, your 03 number can be transferred to as many existing lines as you require, including your mobile! This will not affect your ability to answer callers who ring the original number but in addition you can handle callers from your new 03 number as well.

  • Do I need to purchase any hardware?

    At the 03 NumberShop our system provides a hosting solution which dramatically reduces the costs of a professional business phone structure. All hardware used is hosted on our premises, not yours. There’s no disruptive installation, costly training programs or insurance worries as all of these are provided by us, accompanied by our specialist support team.

  • Can you direct calls to mobile phones?

    An 03 number can forward to any mobile handset on any network in the UK and the process is smooth and pain free.

    Our mobile forwarding options are just as economic as our other tariffs and you can get this specialist service for only £9.99 + VAT a month. If you want your 03 number forwarding to a mobile simply select one of our mobile packages as you progress through the order process.

  • Surely I'm better off advertising an 0800 number as they are Freephone?

    In July 2015 Ofcom changed the way calls to 0800 numbers are charged. This has made them free to call from both landlines and mobiles, but crucially these charges have been passed onto the businesses who operate them. Suppliers of 0800 numbers are now forced into applying a surcharge of up to 4p per minute for every call to an 0800 which originates from a mobile.

    Calls to 03 numbers are unaffected by these charges.

  • Are there any hidden costs?

    At 03NumberShop we believe in clear and transparent pricing, the price you see is the price you pay. If all you require is a straight forward divert to a landline or mobile, you are billed the monthly charge which includes inclusive inbound minutes. If you go over these minutes you will be charged to advertised out of bundle cost. Our account managers constantly monitor their customers to ensure they are on the best package.

    Any additional management services are supplied as separate IVR packages – these optional extras are clearly advertised and grouped into easy to understand IVR packages.

  • Do you sign me up into a minimum contract?

    Unless you agree a bespoke package with an account manager, 03NumberShop  does not operate minimum contracts. You are free to cancel your number at any time.

    As we bill in arrears, all we ask is that you provide 30 days notice to ensure your account is paid up to date.

  • How long does it take to set up my new number(s)?

    03 numbers are super-fast to set up and once we have received your direct debit form we can set up within an hour on a working day!

    The longest you’ll have to wait would be 24 hours, but this only happens under circumstances when we receive payment details outside of working hours.

  • How do I see if my number is being used?

    Online stats through Call Command come as standard with any package on 03NumberShop. This means that; with a simple login on our portal you have access to the administration of all of your numbers!

    There are loads of useful tools on this dashboard including the ability to track call numbers and duration as well as making updates to your set up such as the target destinations for your numbers – see our service packages for details.

  • How do I activate additional services such as fax to email?

    All numbers are supplied with our free call management package, which includes fax to email through an additional 0844 phone number, but you have the freedom to create a completely bespoke set-up for your business.

  • If my phone lines go down how do I continue taking calls?

    All our 03 numbers can be instantly re-routed to an alternative landline or mobile (depending on your call package). This can be done during office hours by contacting our account managers or can be done yourself online through our portal. For access to online divert control you will need to sign up to our Basic IVR package – call us for details.

  • How do I cancel my package?

    If you wish to cancel please do so in writing by emailing info@03numbershop.co.uk. This will be immediately picked up by our team and one of our representatives will contact you to discuss this further.
